YouTube GOLD (S3 E1) - SOLO GOLD MiNiNG SHOW - BUiLDiNG A MUD BARRiER ROAD | RC ADVENTURES - YouTube

Channel: RCSparks Studio

[1]
- Well, here we are.
[4]
It's a beautiful day, no wind,
[8]
absolutely perfect for gold mining.
[11]
I knew this, that I could almost predict this
[14]
because everyone's on lockdown in quarantine
[17]
and we can't get together.
[18]
What a beautiful warm,
[20]
no wind day.
[23]
Well, I know the only guy that showed up to work,
[26]
is my trusty foreman Bob. Bob, how are you doing buddy?
[36]
Always good to hear from you. So I'm gonna fire it up.
[39]
You guys can see over a long winter that I've had a lot
[43]
of destruction at the mine site. Look at this.
[46]
I miss the boys, I wish they were here right now.
[48]
I can't even call it YouTube Gold without the boys,
[50]
because the gold is truly in the fun
[53]
and friendship we have here.
[54]
But regardless gold has to be dug
[57]
and all this needs to be fixed.
[60]
You guys must be wondering,
[61]
where all these damn boulders keep coming from.
[64]
All of this needs to be redug,
[66]
all the wiring for the pumps. This is the old pump house.
[69]
Look at this, this is all falling apart.
[72]
All the earth has pushed it all in.
[74]
Aargh!
[75]
That was the pump house.
[76]
All this wiring needs to be redone.
[80]
And last year, if you remember,
[82]
if you guys were fans
[83]
of YouTube Gold last year in season two,
[86]
we had quite a serious year of weather,
[88]
where it was just rain or snow, everything.
[92]
It was terrible to work in.
[95]
So I have a whole idea of making a new road in here.
[99]
Look at all this. This is all overgrown.
[102]
(bulldozer engine starts)
[115]
Let's rock and roll.
[118]
First order of businesses is to actually get to business
[121]
and get done what I can get done in preparation.
[125]
I had big plans for season three, lots of equipment.
[129]
Oh yeah.
[131]
Bulldozer showing it's might.
[136]
(bulldozer engine revving)
[138]
There it is.
[146]
This bulldozer weighs in at 60 pounds,
[150]
an unbelievable weight for a hydraulic RC.
[157]
(bulldozer engine revving)
[167]
(bright upbeat music)
[184]
(bright upbeat music continues)
[206]
(bulldozer engine revving)
[219]
Yeah, just having a look at this, this is where our huge,
[222]
like old faithful used to feed into the trommel here,
[226]
and you can see it's been decimated.
[228]
I'm surprised that it didn't hold up,
[230]
a lot longer than it did.
[232]
Two years seem to be a little bit light for the amount
[234]
of effort that we put into it,
[236]
but I'll clear these rocks down here
[238]
and get rid of the debris.
[240]
(bulldozer engine revving)
[267]
Good.
[268]
Now that all the crap is out of the way
[271]
or most of it at least,
[272]
what I need to do is get into this area right here
[275]
and start flattening it out.
[278]
You can see that a whole bunch of this area has been moved
[282]
by the winter
[284]
and all the water that comes through this area,
[286]
and I think the mud is one
[287]
of the things that inhibited us the most last year,
[291]
is that our trucks were sliding around
[293]
and that we weren't able to overcome that.
[295]
So I have a way to do that.
[297]
Let's flatten all this out and see if we can,
[300]
it's gonna be a long job.
[302]
There's a lot of area to cover with a very small bulldozer.
[306]
There may be a more effective way,
[308]
but I wanna give it a try at least.
[310]
(bulldozer engine revving)
[332]
I think one of the most important things
[334]
to me about this road being done is the grade
[337]
and anything above a B+ would be acceptable,
[340]
but no lower than a C.
[344]
That's B+ quality right there.
[354]
Yeah.
[356]
Wow! I can't believe how quiet it is around here.
[358]
It's like working with Mikal full time.
[363]
Aargh,
[364]
this road is turning out just the way we needed it to.
[368]
I have a quicker way to do the top part though.
[371]
Okay. What's up, it's me again.
[374]
This time I will be wearing my hard hat
[376]
because of this huge machine.
[378]
If you've never seen this before on my channel
[380]
or on the show, then prepare to have your mind blown.
[383]
This is a full size radio control, CAT 242D skid-steer,
[389]
check it out.
[390]
But boom, there's my controller right there.
[393]
I've got a smooth edge bucket on it,
[395]
I'm gonna use it to help me flatten out some
[397]
of the area that I need.
[398]
(skid-steer engine starts)
[403]
(bright upbeat music)
[432]
(reverse gear indicator beeping)
[438]
(bright upbeat music continues)
[519]
A lot of viewers of the show,
[520]
may wonder why there is a big pile
[522]
of dirt here when Joe was working the glory hole
[526]
so well last year,
[528]
and I would agree it is suspicious.
[531]
You can look around here,
[532]
you can see I've actually pushed out a lot of dirt
[534]
with the skid-steer.
[536]
Now it's time to get in there with the heavy duty stuff
[538]
and move this dirt around to where it should be.
[541]
(skid-steer engine revving)
[556]
Yeah, and here comes,
[560]
the big new Komatsu.
[562]
Last year we had a hard time keeping up
[564]
with the demand for paydirt,
[566]
that was going through the wash plant.
[568]
So I also had the other payday trommel,
[572]
the orange trailer that was also sifting paydirt for us.
[576]
So we needed another loader and instead of having it idle,
[579]
I'm gonna have it to help me build the road right now.
[582]
(Komatsu engine roaring)
[583]
(bulldozer engine revving)
[611]
Okay, I can tell my time on that is gonna be forever.
[615]
It's gonna take a lot of the power out
[617]
of the cell that I have in there right now.
[621]
So we might as well get the Volvo rock truck down here.
[624]
We can start filling that up with dirt
[625]
and start moving out larger quantities.
[628]
(bulldozer engine revving)
[659]
There is one thing I gotta say
[660]
about the guys not being here that I miss, is that I have
[664]
to carry every one of these.
[667]
(bulldozer engine roaring)
[677]
Just gonna try and push some
[678]
of this dirt up towards the ramp
[680]
cause I wanna level out the ramp at the same time.
[696]
(truck honking)
[718]
I have a feeling I might be a little bit too far away
[721]
from the loader to see how high of a reach this has.
[726]
Ooh, not bad.
[730]
Right in the center,
[735]
much better.
[748]
keep up the good work, Bob.
[751]
(bright upbeat music drowns out speaker)
[763]
Softer.
[767]
Kevin!
[773]
(bright upbeat music continues)
[807]
Load one.
[856]
(truck honking)
[859]
(bright upbeat music continues)
[870]
That should be plenty for me to build a road.
[874]
Everyone's always telling me to put gravel in here.
[877]
I put gravel in here before, but the problem is,
[879]
it gets caught in between the tracks of the excavators.
[883]
So it makes it much more challenging.
[890]
(skid-steer engine revving)
[906]
Okay, here I am under my lean to shout out
[909]
to Sluice Box Steve right now,
[910]
what's up Steve for dropping off all
[913]
of this cedar wood 2 1/2 years ago,
[916]
he said he had been storing it in his basement,
[919]
he had had it forever.
[920]
Took him 17 trips in his smaller Mazda truck
[924]
to get all this here, but finally did get it here.
[926]
We're gonna put it to good use,
[928]
I'm thinking of cutting this up into planks
[930]
and putting down a complete cedar road.
[933]
So 29 inches.
[940]
29 inch platform
[943]
and 29 inches,
[946]
well give or take an inch.
[948]
Everyone knows the secret to a good clean successful cut is
[952]
to get as many pieces of wood onto your saw
[954]
as possible at once.
[959]
(saw blades squealing)
[987]
Looking good Bob, keep up the good work buddy.
[993]
(bulldozer engine roaring)
[1004]
The strength of these machines always astonish me.
[1008]
You could see the amount of work that needs to be done
[1010]
before the mine site can even start up.
[1012]
It's been absolutely terrible.
[1015]
And I know last year,
[1016]
the mud and the snow were crippling to us,
[1020]
and I think that this is gonna be the ultimate solution,
[1024]
you can already see in the background,
[1026]
I've been working on it.
[1029]
(bright upbeat music)
[1082]
Well, there we are at the end of a long day,
[1084]
all the machinery now lifted back
[1087]
to where they're supposed to be.
[1089]
Decking boards, section one is now complete.
[1093]
Section two, you can see is being worked in there.
[1097]
And I think this is basically the ultimate answer
[1101]
to any kind of rain, snow, sleet, mud,
[1105]
basically once they get into those wheels and those tracks,
[1108]
it's debilitating on these machines,
[1111]
and I don't want that to be hampering our efforts
[1113]
because if I can get the crew back this year,
[1116]
if we're able to bring the team together,
[1119]
I wanna make sure that we're ready to go
[1122]
and this is the vision I've had for the mindset
[1124]
for quite some time.
[1125]
I still got a lot of work to go in the middle part,
[1127]
gotta redig this, gotta to restore up all the walls,
[1130]
gotta pull out the wash plant,
[1132]
redo the whole thing because that's in a huge disarray.
[1136]
Drop a like click right now if you want to do that.
[1139]
If you guys had a great time watching all these amazing RC's
[1143]
in action, drop that like click now,
[1146]
and guys send a shout out, Krazy Joe,
[1150]
Sluice Box, Lyle,
[1152]
Rookie, Mikal,
[1154]
everybody that's come and helped this come together,
[1158]
even Kevin, I knew you're listening buddy.
[1160]
I just wanna send a shout out to you guys.
[1163]
Thank you all for joining me today
[1164]
and we'll see you in the next episode of YouTube Gold.
[1173]
Bob I feel like I wouldn't be your friend
[1174]
if I didn't tell you you had a little something,
[1176]
right there buddy,
[1177]
it's just right there.
[1178]
If you could start participating a little bit more,
[1180]
that'd be helpful also.
[1182]
I feel like I was really on my own here for a lot
[1184]
of the show and we missed your comedic gestures,
[1188]
your smiles,
[1190]
mostly.
