[5]
hey there welcome to first glance聽
with jody vance glad you're with us聽聽
[8]
as we continue our series on trying to open up聽
the access to awareness of and take the fear聽聽
[16]
away from getting into investing maybe you've聽
never done it before have you scraped together聽聽
[21]
just a few thousand dollars and you're looking聽
for a place to put that money get in on the聽聽
[26]
ground floor get in on a company that's growing we聽
are trying to shine a light on companies that are聽聽
[31]
right at that special moment where investment can聽
lead to big things oftentimes those investments聽聽
[39]
are only available to people in expensive suits聽
with pocket squares not that there's anything聽聽
[43]
wrong with expensive suits and pocket squares聽
but we just want to open it up to more people聽聽
[48]
and today we are shining some light on globex聽
data and the ceo of globex is with us, Alain Ghiai聽聽
[56]
welcome thank you for doing this thank you聽
jody and welcome to our viewers happy to聽聽
[61]
be here i noticed you're wearing you're kind聽
of flying your colors there with your outfit聽聽
[66]
in your honor because our ticker is swiss s-w-i-s聽
with 1s and this is the international symbol of聽聽
[74]
switzerland when you do sports competition or you聽
know it goes kind of like sailing competition and聽聽
[80]
whatnot in the olympics so yes i'm wearing our聽
national colors because i am from switzerland聽聽
[86]
even though i am i am in canada right now and i聽
love canada if i wasn't swiss i'd be canada would聽聽
[92]
be my favorite country in the world well you have聽
very good taste and i do i do like that you're聽聽
[97]
flying the colors as well and you're currently聽
in vancouver and yet your company does have roots聽聽
[104]
in switzerland in in that if we could explain聽
globex data to our viewer simply put a global聽聽
[113]
leader in swiss hosted secure data management聽
and communications is that about position right聽聽
[119]
that's that positions it right and if i want to聽
make it even more simple you got that tag line聽聽
[124]
we bring privacy to the world so in every sense聽
especially in your communication we are like a聽聽
[132]
swiss army knife of privacy and security so聽
whether you're an individual or a business聽聽
[139]
and you use email you use messaging you have聽
file shares we have we offer all of that聽聽
[145]
into two solutions one of them called sekursafe
s-e-k-u-r it used to be called digital safe but we聽聽
[152]
rebranded everything last year and then the other聽
solution is called secure sekur it's a combo of聽聽
[160]
two of our older brand private talk and custodia聽
email so secure is an email and messaging app it's聽聽
[167]
ten dollars a month retail us very affordable聽
everybody needs secure email and messaging聽聽
[174]
and then secure save is kind of a combo between a聽
dropbox a password manager a secure file share and聽聽
[180]
an email so typically you would have businesses聽
small businesses all the way to big ones聽聽
[186]
they need that one tool where they can backup聽
everything to the cloud they have their file聽聽
[191]
share and what's particular about us is we've got聽
three things going that nobody else does so first聽聽
[197]
we have our own platform that means we don't use聽
amazon web services or google cloud or microsoft聽聽
[204]
cloud that's critical for many reasons uh security聽
one and legal is another i'll explain that in a聽聽
[210]
minute okay we have our own proprietary tech so we聽
don't use open source coding that means it cannot聽聽
[217]
be reverse engineered so easily in fact it can't聽
and then of course we're based in switzerland聽聽
[222]
the storage is in switzerland switzerland has聽
the strictest data privacy laws in the world聽聽
[228]
and that's really critical because we're聽
all about privacy and security so your peers聽聽
[233]
we don't metadata mine you we don't rent your data聽
we don't sell it to anyone that's like old swiss聽聽
[240]
bank from 50 years ago and the thing about the聽
legal aspect of it is that in the us they passed聽聽
[247]
a law in 2018 2019 called the cloud act it's聽
like the patriot act for the cloud so basically聽聽
[254]
a lot of people a lot of businesses say聽
well we need the data in canada because聽聽
[260]
we're a healthcare company or a bank or the聽
federal for example right if your data is running聽聽
[265]
on an aws cloud or microsoft if you use office聽
365 or outlook or whatever it's useless that聽聽
[274]
privacy is gone with that cloud act it means聽
that that same data is duplicated in the us聽聽
[281]
and it can be subpoenaed without your knowledge聽
at any time really absolutely it's pretty scary聽聽
[287]
it's a lot that came about when the u.s was聽
fighting with china and they had data there聽聽
[293]
so at the end of the day they figured this law聽
and few people know about it some do some don't聽聽
[300]
i've seen it on an application a messaging聽
app called uh trema it's from switzerland聽聽
[306]
i would say it's the only one i would respect but聽
unfortunately they're going to publish their code聽聽
[311]
so now it's going to be all open source but they聽
kind of mention hey no cloud act and all that so聽聽
[317]
if you're if you're in switzerland and you use聽
microsoft you may have to be able to switch laws聽聽
[323]
but by law you have to also obey by the聽
u.s laws so it's not about hiding from the聽聽
[328]
government but let's say you're a business you're聽
a biotech you have competitors and they through a聽聽
[333]
frivolous lawsuit they'll subpoena your data聽
and then they know all your secrets and right聽聽
[338]
so it's it's complex so we offer 100 privacy聽
that's what's important and there's more and more聽聽
[344]
need for it so you know for for anybody that's not聽
a technology phd it's like listen you use gmail聽聽
[351]
you use whatsapp now imagine a swiss version聽
of that with all that privacy as easy to use聽聽
[359]
so that's that's what we offer and for the people聽
who say well i have nothing to hide it's not about聽聽
[364]
hiding it's about your privacy being invaded and聽
your data being sold every month and big companies聽聽
[371]
making thousands a month from you yeah off of off聽
of selling your mined selling your mined data i聽聽
[379]
want to reiterate globex data is the company the聽
stock symbol the ticker is s-w-i-s swis with one s聽聽
[387]
and we're with Alain Ghiai is the ceo of globex聽
data i'm fascinated by this because i mean聽聽
[394]
i'm old enough to have been at the front end of聽
the information age when it comes to the data聽聽
[400]
side when it came to and i remember learning the聽
lesson in a difficult way that everything that you聽聽
[406]
send by email or anything that you do online聽
lives forever forever or is like a postcard聽聽
[412]
until we were using blackberries and and聽
there there was that peer-to-peer that pin聽聽
[419]
that direct to device that yeah you still see聽
people using blackberries to this day even in聽聽
[425]
the you know the time where iphones have taken聽
over everything and it follows you around even聽聽
[429]
when your tracking is off and uh when when i hear聽
about globex data to me it kind of peaks that like聽聽
[436]
i don't have anything to hide but i do want to be聽
aware of my privacy i want to be aware if somebody聽聽
[443]
is looking into anything about me so they can say聽
well what why give me the reasons why and then i聽聽
[448]
will offer up the information that you need as聽
opposed to somebody just going here's everything聽聽
[453]
about jody yeah and you know it's funny you聽
mentioned blackberry i was i'm probably older than聽聽
[460]
you maybe because i used the first us robotics聽
then it became palm pilot then came the blueberry聽聽
[470]
thing and then there was a blackberry so there聽
was a pager blackberry so yeah blackberry had聽聽
[475]
this thing called bbm blackberry messenger that's聽
what you're referring to and the people who use聽聽
[481]
blackberry today little do they know that samsung聽
took over all the blackberry enterprise server 10聽聽
[487]
years ago we work with samsung knox i know all聽
the ins and outs of that and blackberry is just聽聽
[493]
a shell i don't even think they're going to make聽
phones anymore because they use the android system聽聽
[500]
so it came from a security thing to now being聽
practical people like that that that keyboard聽聽
[506]
the click click click click click click click聽
yeah and so it's not the security that it was聽聽
[511]
no no but we have something um well in our secure聽
messenger we don't require your phone number聽聽
[518]
so we have a concept where you register with a聽
username and a password and you download the app聽聽
[524]
to iphone android blackberry anything you want聽
it's also web-based and the difference is that聽聽
[530]
when you give your phone number to an app and then聽
you have your address book like signal for example聽聽
[536]
a lot of people want to signal yeah more secure聽
private well every time somebody goes to signal i聽聽
[543]
get notified so there's zero privacy like i know聽
everybody from my address book that's on signal聽聽
[549]
but your secure messenger which is our product you聽
can't upload your address book and you're issued聽聽
[556]
an sm id number so my sm is whatever you would聽
have went through it's unique it's created and聽聽
[564]
then if i want to add you i need to have your聽
sm number and then i add you and you still have聽聽
[570]
the option to accept or not but what's really cool聽
that we're coming up with so that's blackberry on聽聽
[576]
steroids that's one of them told me uh it's it's聽
like the swiss blackberry let's just call it that聽聽
[582]
and what's happening is next month we're聽
launching a feature that imagine you want聽聽
[587]
to talk to a patient a client a government聽
partner anything anybody outside of your network聽聽
[596]
now today the other person needs the app so if you聽
do whatsapp or text or signal telegram now we're聽聽
[603]
launching something that you can message anybody聽
in the world they don't need our service and they聽聽
[609]
don't need to register a thing they receive聽
an email it says chat with jody boom you click聽聽
[616]
it's a live chat and let's say you don't have聽
security and i do after a conversation is finished聽聽
[622]
i terminate and it's gone wow it's gonna be a聽
game changer this is huge pumped up and excited聽聽
[630]
you have no idea the feedback that we got and聽
what's really cool is that you can create groups聽聽
[638]
it's it's just unreal because in the real estate聽
industry you know vancouver is like real estate聽聽
[644]
central like toronto you know expensive homes聽
we know it so you have a realtor and then maybe聽聽
[649]
somebody overseas and then maybe their banker聽
at whatever rbc and then you need to create a聽聽
[655]
group you need to exchange paper or quick chats聽
how do you do what's up so now you have like the聽聽
[662]
zillionaire that has all their data on whatsapp聽
some hacker overseas can see everything they get聽聽
[668]
into their phone i can whip out a website and show聽
you how to hack your whatsapp in eight minutes聽聽
[675]
if i know your phone number i can get into it聽
right away and that's what's scary that's why we聽聽
[679]
don't charge phone we don't ask for your phone聽
number so we have revolutionary technology but聽聽
[684]
it's so easy like anybody can use it i love this聽
this is like you said i believe this might be a聽聽
[690]
game changer given how you've laid this out so聽
brilliantly Alain Ghiai is the ceo, globex data聽聽
[698]
is the company and the stock symbol the ticker is聽
swiss with just one s s w i s i like what you set聽聽
[705]
up the top of this interview where you said this聽
is like the swiss bank account of 50 years ago聽聽
[712]
but for your data that is a really simple way聽
for anyone to understand because we are so mined聽聽
[720]
i mean we can just say something around our phone聽
and next thing you know an ad is showing up on our聽聽
[724]
social media for what we were just talking about聽
so to be able to really take your conversations聽聽
[731]
offline to the degree of locking it down even just聽
for those those moments where you need it most聽聽
[739]
like you said when you have you know um sensitive聽
materials not anything to hide but just you know聽聽
[746]
you could steal my identity based on some of聽
the things that you wouldn't conduct business on聽聽
[751]
facebook would you no no well whatsapp is facebook聽
yeah when you think about it would you i always聽聽
[758]
say if you write something on whatsapp or any聽
other system that is not built by us i'm biased聽聽
[764]
because i know what we have yeah if you build if聽
you write something just be aware that it's public聽聽
[770]
it's a person i write on a whatsapp if i need聽
to reach someone i just sometimes i tell them聽聽
[775]
hey check sm that's secure messenger sometimes聽
not everybody has it on and i say here let's聽聽
[780]
send you an sm and then in a messenger i can put聽
the right thing by the way as a public company聽聽
[786]
you have information that you know you discuss聽
with partners etc that's not yet public聽聽
[792]
i guarantee you all the public companies聽
should have a service like that聽聽
[796]
um they have i know a lot of public companies that聽
are a little bit careless with their communication
[803]
in terms of messaging we have kind of what we聽
explain but we have the same thing with email so聽聽
[807]
imagine um can i explain really in layman's term聽
how email works please so if you have the best聽聽
[814]
system in the world in your business it doesn't聽
matter when the email leaves your server it's an聽聽
[821]
open postcard it's simple as that i like to say聽
we are the brinks truck of email and everybody聽聽
[828]
else has a bicycle i love that that is perfectly聽
put in my mind totally or a moped that's right聽聽
[838]
for metal you need a bombardment to get into it聽
yeah so you know so somebody told me it's like聽聽
[845]
message in an envelope or something but聽
when you we have a system called secure send聽聽
[851]
which is pretty cool so you can send let's say聽
you're a realtor at re max i use re max because聽聽
[856]
they have signed up our company for a 90聽
000 agent so agent thank you um remax agent聽聽
[865]
has a client they need to send back enforce tax聽
return documentation re max is going to send to聽聽
[871]
their client the client has gmail they get an聽
email they click on it they see the content the聽聽
[876]
content can be as many size as they want it won't聽
clog the recipient mailbox and then the result聽聽
[882]
like okay assign and now upload back into the聽
secure send and now the client wants to reply back聽聽
[890]
the big mistake is that now they're going聽
to use their own email and then the whole聽聽
[894]
thing is gone oh yeah so now we can use secure聽
reply we have that and you don't need to register聽聽
[902]
what's important because i have bank accounts聽
in a couple of canadian banks and sometimes聽聽
[906]
they they send me some encrypted message聽
but i need to register for the thing聽聽
[911]
i need to create a password for this one or twice聽
i'm like just send me the email already whereas
[918]
you can be as simple as click here聽
yeah password protect you can time聽聽
[923]
extend the thing you can even decide聽
how many times the recipient can read it聽聽
[927]
so you can't be forwarded once they read it once聽
and it disappears oh that's valuable cool so聽聽
[933]
elaine before we're getting short on time but聽
i gotta get to this because i understand that聽聽
[938]
this wednesday you announced uh your first聽
distribution agreement with australia聽聽
[943]
yes that's massive that's massive because聽
australia is one of those countries that's being聽聽
[949]
hacked unfortunately by foreign powers a lot i'm聽
sure we'll read about it australia has 25 million聽聽
[956]
uh people it's almost as big as canada very聽
wealthy resource-rich country it's a financial聽聽
[963]
center you've got australia asia over there we聽
have our own office in sydney and we're signing up聽聽
[969]
for a few distributors we're pretty excited about聽
australia i'm really excited about globex data聽聽
[975]
s-w-i-s swiss with one s is the stock symbol find聽
it on your ticker ellen i want updates from you聽聽
[983]
if you don't mind my friend it's been an absolute聽
pleasure chatting with you today thanks for doing聽聽
[988]
this thank you and i do like the glasses we'll go聽
with the glasses we didn't talk about the little聽聽
[995]
oh we can let's do it let's do it right聽
now let's talk about the little shareholder聽聽
[1001]
the people who are scraping their money聽
together and wanting to uh to come on聽聽
[1004]
you ask me a question i'll address it okay so um聽
are you just looking for big shareholders or can聽聽
[1011]
anybody with a smaller amount of money uh come聽
on board if they're getting excited about globex聽聽
[1016]
if there's no small shareholder i always say聽
that you know if you have whatever dollar you聽聽
[1020]
have to scrape i would say if you believe in a聽
long-term investment uh we are here for you and聽聽
[1027]
you know every shareholder is important because聽
you have to start someplace yeah you know you聽聽
[1031]
don't it has to be democratized so we respect all聽
sorts of shareholders i go on some of the forums聽聽
[1038]
and talk with them they give me amazing聽
ideas actually in fact the small shareholders聽聽
[1044]
actually sometime are much more involved in a聽
company like ours a lot of them buy our service聽聽
[1050]
and i get a lot of pleasure talking to you know聽
the non-institutional shareholders and everybody聽聽
[1056]
is important you need the big ones but by no聽
by by any means i mean don't be shy you know聽聽
[1062]
when you want to invest you put your whatever x聽
dollars every month and you build your nest egg聽聽
[1067]
and globex is that kind of company that's going聽
to keep growing i myself buy shares all the time聽聽
[1073]
that's big the shareholder in the company i keep聽
buying because i believe in that long-term value聽聽
[1079]
that we're going to bring and eventually聽
the dividends that the company will pay聽聽
[1083]
that's a big piece of the聽
puzzle how do the hopeful聽聽
[1087]
shareholders get in touch and find you what's聽
your website uh our website is globex data group聽聽
[1095]
and so that's they can find you on there they can聽
find us they put a they click i get shareholders聽聽
[1102]
emailing me i reply to every shareholder um there聽
you go we have a twitter page too but we don't聽聽
[1108]
reply to the twitter page because we're not so we聽
have to be very careful as a public company but聽聽
[1114]
our pages at globex data but if you go corporate聽
at globexdatagroup.com or simply go to our website聽聽
[1123]
globexdatagroup.com i reply pretty much to every聽
shareholder globexdatagroup.com stock symbol s聽聽
[1132]
w i s swiss with 1s swiss twist just like your聽
shirt If i may add one thing we're also trading in聽聽
[1140]
the us and in frankfurt as well so now we're truly聽
like a global uh traded company because we are a聽聽
[1147]
global company we operate out of mexico out of聽
south asia australia canada us and europe we can聽聽
[1154]
do a series on globex data you have to come back聽
here on first glance with jody vance this is just聽聽
[1159]
your premiere episode i'm looking forward to it聽
Alain thank you thanks everyone for watching you
